Hotel Details
Looking for a fairytale escape to St Petersburg? Welcome to the Dom Boutique hotel in the heart of the city.

Located in a beautiful 19th century mansion in the pretty historic area between the embankment of the Fontanka river and the diplomatic district, this new luxury hotel is perfectly placed for those who wish to savour the architectural beauty and the artistic treasures of the Rive Droite of St Petersburg. Unlike many St Petersburg hotels it is far from the mainstream tourist routes, yet right in the city centre, ideal for accessing the sights and sounds of Russia’s northern capital.

The atmosphere in this delightful hotel in St Petersburg is one of understated calm: a combination of luxury and good taste enhanced by outstanding design pieces and works of art.

The building was originally built as a set of apartments in 1876 by the French architect August Zhoffrio, and it is now presented in a modern form, as one of the most unusual St Petersburg hotels. The unique atmosphere and the history of the neighbourhood, combined with the hotel’s modern design, give guests a fantastic insight into this unusual city.

The lobby and restaurant in this boutique hotel in St Petersburg boast original furnishings and exquisite décor. The interiors were designed by a British company, Project Orange, who have brought contemporary intervention to a classical setting.

In order to achieve this they have used some unique materials: the lobby floor, for instance, is made of marble, while the rooms feature parquet floor made from rare trees, a bonus for those who appreciate natural materials.

The hotel has a combined lounge and library right by its entrance, allowing guests to relax, think, and read. The walls of the library, halls, and rooms are hung with works by one of the city’s leading photographers, Alexander Kitaev.

On entering the hotel, guests see a split-level staircase that leads up to the lobby and down to the meeting rooms. The space is lined in glossy black panelling, with a Nero Marquina and Carrara marble herringbone floor, and is a showcase for quirky furniture, objets d'art and contemporary paintings.

The bedrooms reflect the spirit of the hotel; they continue the panelling detail to recreate a classical space featuring a collection of furniture to designs by Project Orange. The look of the rooms is deliberately eclectic - an assortment of personal choices that have been brought together over time.

The hotel’s modern English style is seen in the red commode in every room, velvety textiles of the highest quality, antique mirrors, striking black bathrooms with gold-plated fittings, and lovely French windows with a view of the street.

Project Orange’s designers have carefully preserved this historic building while adding their modern English style to the heart of St. Petersburg. Our guests may relax in the comfort that true connoisseurs of the city deserve!

The building is located in the museum quarter of the city, close to the former Mukhina art school, now the Stieglitz Academy, which nurtured generations of world-famous painters and sculptors.

The hotel's main entrance is opposite the architectural ensemble of the old Salt Town. Most rooms overlook Peter the Great’s Summer Garden, praised by Russian poet Alexander Pushkin.

Within walking distance of the hotel are the stunning Mikhailovsky and Marble Palaces and the Mikhailovsky castle, right by the Fontanka and Moika rivers.

The hotel is also very near Nevsky Prospekt, the city’s main thoroughfare, and a pleasant walk along the Moika to the world-famous Hermitage art museum. Or for a short wander, the hotel is just a few steps from the Neva river, which is beautiful during the White Nights and indeed all year round.

After a day of getting to know the city, guests can return to the jewel of St Petersburg’s hotels, the Dom Boutique, for an impeccable welcome and a peaceful rest.
